Circular_text TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 7618 SUBJECT: GRB 080414: A long GRB detected by INTEGRAL DATE: 08/04/15 00:12:07 GMT FROM: Sandro Mereghetti at IASF/CNR S.Mereghetti, A.Paizis (IASF-Milano), D.Gotz (CEA-Saclay), M. Turler, S.Shaw, M. Beck, C. Baldovin Saavedra (ISDC, Versoix), and J. Borkowski (CAMK, Torun) on behalf of the IBAS Localization Team report: A GRB lasting about 10 s has been detected by IBAS in IBIS/ISGRI data at 22:33:32 UT of April 14. The coordinates (J2000) are: RA: 272.1342 [degrees] DEC: -18.8291 [degrees] with an uncertainty of 2 arcmin (90% c.l.). A preliminary analysis gives a peak flux in the 20-200 keV range of about 1 ph/cmq/s (1-s integration time) and a fluence over the same energy range of 3e-7 erg/cmq. This message can be cited.

French (UCD Dublin) reports on behalf of the Watcher collaboration: Watcher started observations of long INTEGRAL GRB at 22:36:25, e.g. 2:50 post GRB, 33 sec post GCN trigger. Observation, as well as futher analysis, is ongoing. Quick look on first images does not show any new source down to 14 mag. This message may be cited.

Khamitov (TUG), M. Pavlinsky, R. Sunyaev (IKI), Z. Eker (TUG), U. Kiziloglu (METU), E. Gogus (Sabanci Uni.), I. Bikmaev, N. Sakhibullin (KSU/AST) report: The field of the long GRB 080414 detected by INTEGRAL (Mereghetti et al., GCN 7618) was observed with Russian-Turkish 1.5-m telescope (RTT150, Bakirlitepe, TUBITAK National Observatory, Turkey), under not optimal conditions. We made 8x100s images in R band centered at 23:46 UT, i.e. approximately 1.21 hours after the burst. We detect no new objects as compared to DSS-II red plate with magnitude brighter than R=~20.

De Pasquale (MSSL/UCL), A.P. Beardmore (U. Leicester) and M. Stamatikos (GSFC) report on the behalf of the Swift team: At 2008-04-15 14:15UT Swift performed a TOO observation of the INTEGRAL burst GRB 080414 (Mereghetti et al., GCN Circ. 7618), some 56.6ks after the trigger. No X-ray source was found in or near the IBAS error circle in a 3.9ks exposure Swift/XRT Photon Counting mode image (taken from T+56.6ks to T+85.5ks after the trigger) down to a 3 sigma limiting 0.3-10keV count rate of 3e-3 count/s. Assuming a power-law spectrum of photon index 2 absorbed by the Galactic column density of 1.16e22 cm^-2 in the direction of the burst, this corresponds to an observed 0.3-10keV flux limit of 1.9e-13 erg cm^-2 s^-1. The Swift/UVOT also observed the field. We do not detect an UV/Optical afterglow in the IBAS error circle in all UVOT filters down to the following 5 sigma upper limits: Filter T_start T_stop Exp. We note that this value is rather uncertain in this direction. The photometry is based on the UVOT photometric system described in Poole et al. (2008, MNRAS, 383, 627).
