Siegel (PSU) report on behalf of the Swift Team: At 16:31:29 UT, the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) triggered and located GRB 140610A (trigger=601259). Swift will have a delayed slew due to the Earth observing constraint. The BAT on-board calculated location is RA, Dec 286.260, +3.907, which is RA(J2000) = 19h 05m 02s Dec(J2000) = +03d 54' 24" with an uncertainty of 3 arcmin (radius, 90% containment, including systematic uncertainty). The BAT light curve shows a long peak with a duration of at least 110 sec. The peak count rate was ~1500 counts/sec (15-350 keV), at ~3 sec after the trigger. Due to an observing constraint, Swift will not slew until T0+49.4 minutes. There will be no XRT or UVOT data until this time. As the XRT is currently in Manual State due to an anomaly there will be no prompt data products for this burst once Swift slews. The XRT is still collecting data, and the usual automated analyses will be available once the data are on the ground. The XRT GCN circulars will be produced, once manual verification has taken place due to the uncertain calibration of XRT in its anomaly state. Please see GCN Circ. 16356 for details. Burrows (PSU) report on behalf of the Swift-XRT team: The XRT began observing the field of GRB 140610A at 17:58:18.3 UT, 5209.0 seconds after the BAT trigger. Using promptly downlinked data we find an uncatalogued X-ray source located at RA, Dec 286.26822, 3.90743 which is equivalent to: RA(J2000) = 19h 05m 04.37s Dec(J2000) = +03d 54' 26.7" with an uncertainty of 4.1 arcseconds (radius, 90% containment). This location is 29 arcseconds from the BAT onboard position, within the BAT error circle. This position may be improved as more data are received; the latest position is available at http://www.swift.ac.uk/sper. We cannot determine whether the source is fading at the present time. A power-law fit to a spectrum formed from promptly downlinked event data gives a column density consistent with the Galactic value of 1.19 x 10^22 cm^-2 (Willingale et al. 2013).

Cline on behalf of the Konus-Wind team, report: The long GRB 140610A (Swift-BAT trigger #601259: Evans et al., GCN 16375; T0(BAT)=16:31:29 UT) was detected by Konus-Wind in the waiting mode. The light curve shows a broad emission pulse which started ~3 s before the BAT trigger, peaked at ~T0(BAT)+3 s, and lasted till ~T0(BAT)+150 s. The K-W light curve of this burst is available at http://www.ioffe.rssi.ru/LEA/GRBs/GRB140610A/ As observed by Konus-Wind, the burst had a fluence of (1.6 0.3)x10^-5 erg/cm2 and a 2.944-s peak energy flux, measured from ~T0(BAT)+3 s, of (2.3 0.3)x10^-7 erg/cm2 (both in the 20 - 10000 keV energy range). Modeling the KW 3-channel time-integrated spectrum (from T0(BAT)-3 s to T0(BAT)+150 s) by a power law with exponential cutoff model: dN/dE ~ (E^alpha)*exp(-E*(2+alpha)/Ep) yields alpha = -1.75 0.15, and Ep = 200 93 keV. All the quoted errors are estimated at the 1 sigma confidence level. All the presented results are preliminary.

No optical afterglow consistent with the XRT position (Kennea et al. GCN Circ. 16376) is detected in the initial UVOT exposures. Preliminary 3-sigma upper limits using the UVOT photometric system (Breeveld et al. 2011, AIP Conf. On our first single and coadd images we haven't found optical transient within Swift error-box (Evans et. al. GCN 16375). The very high extinction E(B-V) ~ 2.6 omplicates the analysis. The message may be cited.

Ukwatta (MSU) (i.e. the Swift-BAT team): Using the data set from T-240 to T+552 sec from the recent telemetry downlink, we report further analysis of BAT GRB 140610A (trigger #601259) (Evans, et al., GCN Circ. 16375). The BAT ground-calculated position is RA, Dec = 286.261, 3.899 deg, which is RA(J2000) = 19h 05m 02.7s Dec(J2000) = +03d 53' 56.7" with an uncertainty of 1.0 arcmin, (radius, sys+stat, 90% containment). The partial coding was 67%. The mask-weighted light curve shows the emission starting at ~T-10 sec, peaking at ~T+1 sec, and continuing out to T+110 sec at which time the location left the BAT FoV when the Swift slewed to a pre-planned observing target. The time-averaged spectrum from T-6.67 to T+105.7 sec is best fit by a simple power-law model. The power law index of the time-averaged spectrum is 1.57 +- 0.06. The 1-sec peak photon flux measured from T+0.48 sec in the 15-150 keV band is 1.4 +- 0.2 ph/cm2/sec. All the quoted errors are at the 90% confidence level. Xavier Prochaska (UCSC), Josh Bloom (UCB), Antonino Cucchiara (ORAU/GSFC), Eleonora Troja (GSFC), Owen Littlejohns (ASU), Enrico Ramirez-Ruiz (UCSC), José A. de Diego (UNAM), Leonid Georgiev (UNAM), Jesús González (UNAM), Carlos Román-Zúñiga (UNAM), Neil Gehrels (GSFC), and Harvey Moseley (GSFC) report: We observed the field of GRB 140610A (Evans, et al., GCN 16375) with the Reionization and Transients Infrared Camera (RATIR; www.ratir.org) on the 1.5m Harold Johnson Telescope at the Observatorio Astronómico Nacional on Sierra San Pedro Mártir from 2014/06 11.19 to 2014/06 11.20 UTC (12.06 to 12.26 hours after the BAT trigger), obtaining a total of 0.16 hours exposure in the r and i bands and 0.07 hours exposure in the Z, Y, J, and H bands. We detect no new sources within Swift-XRT error circle (Kennea et al., GCN 16376). In comparison with 2MASS, we obtain the following 3-sigma upper limits: r > 20.22 i > 19.15 Z > 16.99 Y > 17.40 J > 16.68 H > 17.62 These magnitudes are in the AB system and are not corrected for Galactic extinction in the direction of the GRB. Circular_text TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 16385 SUBJECT: GRB 140610A: Fermi GBM Detection DATE: 14/06/11 23:43:19 GMT FROM: Matthew Stanbro at UAH/Fermi Matthew Stanbro (UAH) reports on behalf of the Fermi GBM Team: "At 16:31:28.58 UT on 10 June 2014, the Fermi Gamma-Ray Burst Monitor triggered and located GRB 140610A (trigger 424110691 / 140610689) which was also detected by Swift BAT (Evans et al. 2014, GCN 16375). The GBM on-ground location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is consistent with Swift's location. The GBM light curve shows a long burst, consisting of one main episode, with a total duration (T90) of about 134.1 s (50-300 keV). The time-averaged spectrum from T0-2.048 s to T0+133.122 s is well fit by a power law function with an exponential high-energy cutoff. The power law index is -1.32 +/- 0.08 and the cutoff energy, parameterized as Epeak, is 169 +/- 24 keV. The event fluence (10-1000 keV) in this time interval is (1.2 +/- 0.1)E-05 erg/cm^2. The 1.024-sec peak photon flux measured starting from T0+0.00 s in the 10-1000 keV band is 2.5 +/- 0.3 ph/s/cm^2. The spectral analysis results presented above are preliminary; final results will be published in the GBM GRB Catalog."

Circular_text TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 16388 SUBJECT: GRB 140610A: Swift-XRT refined Analysis DATE: 14/06/12 08:33:01 GMT FROM: Phil Evans at U of Leicester P. A. Evans (U Leicester) reports on behalf of the Swift-XRT team: We have analysed 11 ks of XRT data for GRB 140610A (Evans et al. GCN Circ. 16375), from 3.1 ks to 115.0 ks after the BAT trigger. The data comprise 586 s in Windowed Timing (WT) mode with the remainder in Photon Counting (PC) mode. Using 463 s of PC mode data and 1 UVOT image, we find an enhanced XRT position (using the XRT-UVOT alignment and matching UVOT field sources to the USNO-B1 catalogue): RA, Dec = 286.26899, +3.90822 which is equivalent to: RA (J2000): 19h 05m 04.56s Dec(J2000): +03d 54' 29.6" with an uncertainty of 3.1 arcsec (radius, 90% confidence). The light curve from T0+3.1-10.6 ks can be modelled with a power-law decay with a decay index of alpha=0.66 (+0.26, -0.25). At T0+10.6 ks the count rate is 0.04 +/- 0.01 ct/sec. In subsequent observations, spanning T0+61-115 ks and containing 7.5 ks of exposure, the source is undetected with a 3-sigma upper limit of 0.002 ct/sec. This is substantially below the extrapolated decay detailed above, and suggests a decay index of alpha > 1.71. A spectrum formed from the PC mode data can be fitted with an absorbed power-law with a photon spectral index of 2.3 (+0.9, -0.8). The best-fitting absorption column is 3.1 (+2.0, -1.4) x 10^22 cm^-2, in excess of the Galactic value of 1.2 x 10^22 cm^-2 (Willingale et al. 2013). The counts to observed (unabsorbed) 0.3-10 keV flux conversion factor deduced from this spectrum is 6.0 x 10^-11 (2.0 x 10^-10) erg cm^-2 count^-1. A summary of the PC-mode spectrum is thus: Total column: 3.1 (+2.0, -1.4) x 10^22 cm^-2 Galactic foreground: 1.2 x 10^22 cm^-2 Excess significance: 2.2 sigma Photon index: 2.3 (+0.9, -0.8) The results of the XRT-team automatic analysis are available at http://www.swift.ac.uk/xrt_products/00601259. We took several images in R-filter. Within enhanced XRT position (Evans et al., GCN 16388) we do not find any new source neither in the first image nor in a stacked image.
