Aptekar, D. Frederiks, A. Kozlova, and T. Cline on behalf of the Konus-Wind team, K. Hurley, on behalf of the IPN, A. von Kienlin, X. Zhang, A. Rau, V. Savchenko, E. Bozzo, and C. Ferrigno, on behalf of the INTEGRAL SPI-ACS GRB team, and S. Barthelmy, J. Cummings, H. Krimm, and D. Palmer, on behalf of the Swift-BAT team, report: The short-duration GRB 180824A was detected by Konus-Wind, INTEGRAL (SPI-ACS), and Swift (BAT), at about 36319 s UT (10:05:19). The burst was outside the coded field of view of the BAT. We have triangulated it to a preliminary, 3 sigma error box whose coordinates are: --------------------------------------------- RA(2000), deg Dec(2000), deg --------------------------------------------- Center: 10.060 (00h 40m 14s) +56.619 (+56d 37' 09") Corners: 357.831 (23h 51m 19s) +60.118 (+60d 07' 04") 6.353 (00h 25m 25s) +58.199 (+58d 11' 58") 18.977 (01h 15m 55s) +52.272 (+52d 16' 18") 13.317 (00h 53m 16s) +54.952 (+54d 57' 07") --------------------------------------------- The error box area is 3.30 sq. deg, and its maximum dimension is 14.0 deg (the minimum one is 20.76 arcmin). The Sun distance was 105 deg. This box may be improved. A triangulation map is posted at http://www.ioffe.ru/LEA/GRBs/GRB180824_T36319/IPN/ The time history and spectrum will be given in forthcoming GCN Circulars.

Circular_text TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 23180 SUBJECT: Konus-Wind observation of GRB 180824A DATE: 18/08/27 14:57:16 GMT FROM: Anastasia Tsvetkova at Ioffe Institute A. Tsvetkova, S. Golenetskii, R.Aptekar, D. Frederiks, M. Ulanov, D. Svinkin, A. Lysenko, A. Kozlova and T. Cline on behalf of the Konus-Wind team, report: The short-duration GRB 180824A (IPN triangulation: Svinkin et al., GCN 23174) triggered Konus-Wind at T0=36319.887 s UT (10:05:19.887). The burst light curve shows a double-peaked structure with a total duration of ~2 s. The emission is seen up to ~1.2 MeV. As observed by Konus-Wind, the burst had a fluence of 1.02(-0.34,+0.41)x10^-6 erg/cm2, and a 64-ms peak energy flux, measured from T0+0.012 s, of 7.15(-3.46,+4.02)x10^-6 erg/cm2/s (both in the 20 keV - 10 MeV energy range). The time-integrated spectrum of the main pulse (measured from T0 to T0+0.256 s) is best fit in the 20 keV - 16 MeV range by a power law with exponential cutoff model: dN/dE ~ (E^alpha)*exp(-E*(2+alpha)/Ep) with alpha = -0.04(-0.85,+1.65), and Ep = 375(-128,+267) keV (chi2 = 16/18 dof). The Konus-Wind light curve of this GRB is available at http://www.ioffe.ru/LEA/GRBs/GRB180824_T36319/ All the quoted errors are at the 90% confidence level. All the quoted values are preliminary.
