Circular_text TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 37176 SUBJECT: GRB 240814A: Fermi GBM Final Real-time Localization DATE: 24/08/14 04:06:43 GMT FROM: Fermi GBM Team at MSFC/Fermi-GBM The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB At 03:56:12 UT on 14 Aug 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 240814A (trigger 745300577.405938 / 240814164). The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 48.4, Dec = -4.6 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 03h 13m, -4d 35'), with a statistical uncertainty of 2.1 degrees. The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 22.0 degrees. The observations began at zenith distance = 76 deg. The sun altitude is -71.1 deg. The galactic latitude b = -49 deg., longitude l = 186 deg. GRB 240814A was also observed by Fermi/GBM (GCN 37176). The GRM light curve shows that this burst consists of a single pulse with a duration of about 13 s. The GRB 240814A light curves can be found here: http://www.bursthub.cn/admin/static/svgrb240814A.png The Space Variable Objects Monitor (SVOM) is a China-France joint mission led by the Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA, China), National Center for Space Studies (CNES, France) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS, China), which is dedicated to observing gamma-ray bursts and other transient phenomena in the energetic universe.
