Yesterday I asked for an additional read/write on sam. Read from /hsm/exp/IceCube/2005 and write to /hsm/EXP/2005/IceCube. This meant 3 collectors were active on sam simultaneously: COLL1 for reading, E2005 for writing, and of course the E2006 for writing as well. To avoid the intolerable delays I used the new rsync. It began and seemed to run OK, though not with the performance I expected. chuma's disk write rate went from 60 to 75MB/sec, and klausz ethernet usage went from 35MB/sec to from 40-50MB/sec.
Then sam kernel-paniced.
Jul 11 23:53:44 sam kernel: Assertion failure in journal_commit_transaction() at fs/jbd/commit.c:496: "commit_transaction->t_nr_buffers <= commit_transaction->t_outstanding_credits" Jul 11 23:53:44 sam kernel: ----------- [cut here ] --------- [please bite here ] --------- Jul 12 08:56:03 sam syslogd 1.4.1: restart.
There's no core for rfs, no errors logged, nothing obviously wrong.
