Unblinding Proposal

We propose to analyze the 2000-2006 data similar to our analysis of 2005 and 2006 alone:

1. Search Based on a List of Candidate Sources

For a list of candidate sources, the significance and Feldman-Cousins 90% confidence level upper limit will be calculated. We will use the IC9 source candidate list., which we used previously for the 2005 and 2006 searches.

2. Full-Sky Search

For a fine grid of 0.25 ° x 0.25 °, the likelihood function will be evaluated. The region of zenith > 175 ° will be left blind for WIMP searches. The point with highest significance will be compared against randomized data to determine the final significance of the observation.

3. Milagro Stacking

We also plan to do a stacked source analysis with the eight Milagro galactic sources with pre-trial significance >5.0σ. We will use a method similar to a likelihood method developed by HiRes. Details are included on the methodology page.

4. Clustering

Finally, we plan to examine the data for evidence of clustering at small angular scales. We will produce a plot of significance vs. event angular separation and energy (Nch), similar to work done by HiRes. Details are included on the methodology page.
